POM (Prescription Only Medicine)
The stricter tier of medicinal product classification in Nigeria: a pharmaceutical product that may only be dispensed against a valid prescription from a registered medical or dental practitioner. Dispensing requires a PCN-licensed pharmacy premises with a superintendent pharmacist.
POM categories in the Dizpharm range include the antibiotics Caregyl (Metronidazole), Caretrim (Co-trimoxazole) and Ciprodiz (Ciprofloxacin).
