NAFDAC certified Manufacturing since 1986 All 36 states + FCT 5-7 day delivery

About the role

Dizpharm Nigeria Limited is a NAFDAC-certified manufacturer of analgesics, antibiotics, vitamins and Chrismatel table water, operating from Ibusa, Delta State since 1986. We are hiring a Strategic Business Development Officer to lead how the company grows beyond its current base — identifying and sizing new markets and product lines, finding and vetting the right partners, distributors, institutions and contract-manufacturing clients, and building the financial case for each opportunity. You will sit at the intersection of strategy, commercial and management, turning market insight into a prioritised pipeline of growth bets and shepherding the best of them through to signed, revenue-generating agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, research and prioritise market-expansion and growth opportunities — new product categories, channels (retail, wholesale, hospital/institutional, contract manufacturing, export) and geographies within and beyond Nigeria.
  • Map the competitive and regulatory landscape, size addressable markets, and translate findings into a clear, ranked growth strategy for management.
  • Identify, vet and initiate contact with key stakeholders — distributors, wholesalers, institutional buyers, government and NGO health programmes, potential partners and contract-manufacturing clients.
  • Build and own the business-development pipeline: qualify leads, manage relationships, and move opportunities from first contact through proposal, negotiation and close.
  • Build revenue models, pricing scenarios and market-viability and ROI analyses to test each opportunity and support go/no-go decisions.
  • Develop business cases, proposals and pitch materials, and lead or support commercial negotiations through to signed agreements.
  • Work closely with Sales & Marketing, Production and Procurement to make sure new business can be delivered, costed and supplied profitably.
  • Track market trends, competitor activity, regulatory shifts and pricing, and feed intelligence back into product and production planning.
  • Monitor the performance of new partnerships and revenue lines after launch, and report pipeline, forecasts and results to management on a regular cadence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Pharmacy, Marketing, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years in business development, commercial strategy, partnerships or a closely related role.
  • Demonstrable experience identifying market opportunities and taking deals or partnerships from origination through to close.
  • Strong analytical and financial-modelling skills — comfortable building revenue, pricing and market-viability models in Excel or similar.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management, communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to engage senior decision-makers.
  • Sound commercial judgement and the discipline to vet opportunities rigorously rather than chase every lead.
  • Willingness to travel to markets, partners and institutions, and to be based in or relocate to the Ibusa / Asaba axis of Delta State.

Nice to have

  • MBA or other relevant postgraduate qualification.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare or FMCG business development.
  • Existing relationships with distributors, institutional buyers, or government/NGO health programmes.
  • Exposure to contract manufacturing, tenders, export business or new-product launches.
  • Familiarity with NAFDAC and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements in Nigeria.

What we offer

  • A senior, high-ownership role shaping where an established Nigerian manufacturer grows next.
  • Competitive salary plus performance-linked incentives tied to closed deals and new revenue.
  • Direct access to management and real influence over company strategy.
  • The autonomy to build the growth pipeline and partnerships from the ground up.

Questions & answers

Who is this role for?

This role suits a strategic, analytical dealmaker who can move from a market-sizing spreadsheet to a boardroom conversation with a prospective partner — someone who enjoys spotting where a NAFDAC-certified manufacturer can grow next (new products, new channels, new geographies, contract manufacturing, institutional and export business) and has the discipline to vet, model and pursue those opportunities to a signed agreement.

What qualifications and experience do I need?

A degree in Business Administration, Economics, Pharmacy, Marketing, Finance or a related field. A postgraduate qualification (MBA or similar) or a background in pharmaceutical, healthcare or FMCG business development is a strong advantage. At least 5 years in business development, commercial strategy or partnerships — ideally in pharmaceuticals, healthcare or FMCG — including market analysis, deal origination and revenue modelling.

Where is the role based? Is it remote?

This is a full-time, on-site role at Dizpharm’s plant at KM 10, Ibusa-Asaba Expressway, Ibusa, Delta State, Nigeria. It is not a remote position — you’ll need to be based on the Ibusa/Asaba axis of Delta State or willing to relocate.

What is the pay range for this role?

Dizpharm offers a competitive salary for this role, benchmarked against pay for comparable pharmaceutical-manufacturing roles in Delta State and the wider Nigerian market and scaled to your qualifications and years of experience. Exact figures are discussed at the interview and offer stage. For this role the package also includes performance-linked incentives tied to closed deals and new revenue, on top of base salary.
